At Amanda Reimer Mobile Physiotherapy we have a passion for seniors. We believe that making physiotherapy accessible to them is foundational to why we exist. Our physiotherapists aim to enable our patients to live as independently and as pain-free as possible in their home, community or residential care environment.

The older we get the more fragile our health becomes, this doesn't mean, however, that health has to decline, it just requires a bit more special attention to maintain and restore when needed. Natural age-related changes like declines in muscle mass, strength, and endurance, or loss of balance all lead to a decline in mobility and overall function; in seniors this all too often manifests in a traumatic event like a fall. Studies show that while exercise cannot completely prevent all age-related changes, if can dramatically reduce their effects.

As physiotherapists, we believe that health is fluid and gets better or worse based on our daily activities and actions. Therefore, being proactive with exercise and finding ways to stay active as we age is paramount to staying healthy into the later years of life. Physiotherapists are qualified professionals in providing guidance for exercise programs aimed at preventing mobility declines, maintaining current function, and restoring function when adverse events occur.

Remember, ageing is not synonymous with pain or declining mobility! Working with a physiotherapist will help make sure that preventable and reversible age-related changes do not become an issue.

We also believe that care-givers, family members, and the rest of an individual's health care team should be involved in this process. So, with the permission of each client, we are happy to provide regular therapeutic updates to family members or others as requested.
