Amanda Reimer BMR (PT), Certified in Acupuncture

Amanda graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2009 from the School of Medical Rehabilitation with a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy.  Since completing her undergraduate degree Amanda has obtained her acupuncture certification in 2012 from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and the level one certification of the CPA's Diploma of Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Exams. Prior to founding ARMP, Amanda worked at the Victoria General Hospital in acute medical, surgical, intensive care, and emergency units.      
 


Sandra Bhatti, BSc (MPT)

Sandra graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2018 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. Since then, she has worked in a private practice setting which gave her the opportunity to treat a variety of conditions and injuries across different age groups. Sandra has completed her certificate in Acupuncture, her first manual therapy levels and also has an interest in rehabilitation for cancer patients. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as going for walks, skating, or playing Bocce ball with her family.


Ashley Kelner, BKin-AT, MPT

Ashley graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2016 from the Faculty of Graduate Studies in Physical Therapy. Her background is working in hospitals with geriatric patients as well as in private clinical settings as a physiotherapist, athletic therapist, and personal trainer. This provided her with the experience of working with a diverse clientele. Ashley currently holds a Level 2 manual therapy certificate, and is a certified sports first responder. In the future Ashley plans to certify in acupuncture. As a physiotherapist, she is very passionate about movement and helping people get back to their activities of daily living pain free. Ashley is currently on leave.

Jackie Marchylo, BMR (PT) 

Jackie graduated in 2009 from the University of Manitoba, School of Medical Rehabilitation with a bachelors degree in Physiotherapy. Since then she has worked in private practice settings treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. She obtained her acupuncture certification in 2012. She has taken multiple post graduate courses including manual therapy, exercise prescription and taping. She has a keen interest working with pre and postnatal women and has obtained certification as a Pre-postnatal Fitness Specialist. 


Laura Cowtun, MPT, BA KIN

Laura graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015. Since graduating she has worked in both public and private practice and is excited to be offering physiotherapy services at Amanda Reimer Physiotherapy. Laura has a kind and charismatic demeanor and specializes in working with a wide variety of populations. Her practice has included a special interest in working with people with chronic respiratory disease, stroke and brain injury rehabilitation and those with dementia. She is certified in acupuncture and dry needling, and has furthered her education in areas such as the Bobath Concept, the Mckenzie Method and neurological rehabilitation. In the future she is looking forward to obtaining certification as a Respiratory Educator. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cycling, and spending time with family and friends.


Samantha Wu, MPT, B.Kin

Samantha graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Master of Physiotherapy in 2021 after receiving a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of Manitoba in 2018. She strives to provide client-centred holistic care and looks forward to working together with her clients to help them reach their rehabilitation goals. Samantha is a firm believer in lifelong learning and has plans on expanding her knowledge through various courses and certifications. In her spare time, she enjoys going for walks, playing golf, spending time with her family and drinking bubble tea.


Sophie Lam, MPT, B.Kin

Sophie graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018 followed by a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2021. While completing her education, Sophie worked as a physiotherapy aide for 3 years. Since graduating, she has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehab, and private practice. Sophie is passionate about lifelong learning and has completed post-graduate courses in manual therapy for orthopaedic and neurological conditions. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends and family.
